    David Timothy "Tim" Reed

    Wadesville, Ind.

    David Timothy "Tim" Reed, 73, of Wadesville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Encompass Health Deaconess Rehab Hospital.

    Tim was born in Paducah, Kentucky on March 25, 1945 to the late David Samuel and Josephine Ruth (Cashon) Reed. He graduated from Rex Mundi High School and graduated from Indiana State University of Evansville with a degree in psychology and earned a Masters degree in counseling from the University of Evansville. He honorably served in the United States Air Force as a Military Police Sergeant. Tim retired in 1994 from the Evansville Police Department after 20 years of service. Tim enjoyed riding bicycles, running, swimming and lifting weights. Tim excelled in competitive target shooting and loved writing. His greatest achievement was publishing his latest book "Wings Held Up By Hope." He was a Mason, a Shriner and a member of the FOP Lodge.

    Tim is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary (Waters) Reed of Wadesville, IN; his daughters, Jenny Stephens (Gary) of Somerville, IN and Jill Render (Matt) of Indianapolis, IN; his son, Daniel Reed (Amber Knight) of Evansville, IN; stepchildren, Crystal Acton (Rob) of Evansville, IN and Virgil Ellison (Stacy) of Chandler, IN; sisters, Phyllis Lahr of Bay Village, OH and Betty Gross of Evansville, IN; brothers, Mike Reed (Jan) of Evansville, IN and Rick Reed (Jennifer) of Nashville, TN; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

    Tim was preceded in death by his parents.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Rick VanHoose officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.

    Friends may visit from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM. Friends may also visit from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 4400 Clayton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Deaconess Gateway and Encompass Health and Deaconess Midtown for all of their care and compassion given to Tim.
